The National Council on Ageing (NCA) was officially established on 10th February 2003. It is a mechanism mandated by Cabinet through its approval of the National Policy for Older Persons.

Mission Statement
The National Council on Ageing will advocate for and facilitate the development and implementation of plans and programmes which will ensure the protection of the basic human rights of Older Persons thereby improving and enhancing the quality of their lives.
Goal
The overall goal of the National Council on Ageing is to ensure the continued involvement in and contribution of the Older Person to society and creating an environment of independence, dignity and integrity.
Purpose
The National Council on Ageing was established to ensure the promotion, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of the National Policy for Older Persons.
Vision
That all older persons living in Belize will achieve an enhanced quality of life in relation to rights, equality, dignity and respect. All older persons will have equal access to services that will reduce their poverty.
